"Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" by Amy Chua. Mar.28-29, Whole book(skimmed)
Just saying beforehand:this was my mom's book. She read me and my sister the blurb so I flipped through it. It's written by an Asian mom about Asian parenting. Amy Chua gives a list of what rules for her daughters. Examples from list:
- Be in a school play
- Complain about not being in a school play
- Attend a sleepover
- Not play piano or violin
There are even more psycho rules. She makes her daughters play their instrument ALL the time and they can play very well(concerts, etc) But, as to quote the blurb, at what price? Her 2nd daughter, Lulu, and her have explosive fights, she tries to train her dogs to be perfect, and so much more. This book made me think of how lucky I am to have my parents and my life.
