Week 21-25 "Wintergirls"

"Wintergirls" by Laurie Halse Anderson. Read Half of Book, Mar.21-22.

This book is confusing. As in, I'm probably not going to finish it confusing. My family was at Border's and I saw this book on sale and since the person that wrote "Speak" wrote it I decided to get it. The blurb made the book sound REALLY good so I figured why not get it? My sister claimed we already owned it so I found it at home. The blurb was different and not as intriguing but I decided to give the book a chance.
It's about an anorexic girl whose anorexic friend died. In the book she always saying what she eats and how many calories it is. The author makes the book seem censored by writing what the girl really thinks but if the girl's not supposed to think it, the words are very lightly crossed out. You can still read it and everything so I thought that was really cool. Also the author repeats lines, like what her friend said to her before she died or 'body found in a motel room'. I like that too.
Actually looking back on it, this book was pretty good but then I just kind of stopped reading it. Maybe because I had to start reading my Literacy Circle book but who knows? I think I'll give it another shot so you should take a chance with it too!
