"The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan. Pages 1-167, Feb. 17-18
I've already read this book but decided to read it again. Rereading part of it reminded me why I like this series. The funny chapter titles, the funny moments in the book, and the funny thoughts and dialogue. If you couldn't tell, I thought this book was....well funny! It has some serious moments too, like the very beginning with Nancy Bobofit. I also like when they play capture the flag, except with swords and weapons. I would not want to do that even with a no blood rule. That might be interesting to watch though.
Basically this book is about a boy who finds out he's a demigod-half Poiseidon and half his mom. Then he finds out someone stole Zeus's lightning bolt and he better find it! Or else he'll get killed and a war between the gods will start. OH NO! Now, that 'oh no' might have been just a tad dramatic but I remember a lot of the battle parts and climax of this book are dramatic.
I think if I had to be a demigod, I would want to be either Athena or Apollo. But not Ares because he's scary! Aphrodite cheats with Ares and poor Hephaestus if left alone! Oh well, that's life.
